SAVE THE NEWCHURCH GUINEA-PIGS

Bate's Motel for Guinea-Pigs
A campaign against this farm based in Newchurch just west of Burton-upon-Trent has been running a number of years now. The guinea-pigs after being born and raised in similar conditions to broiler chickens can look forward to a short life of pain and misery under a vivisector's knife or worse... The campaign has been stepped up recently due to the cowardly attack on four unarmed protestors, allegedly carried out by thugs hired by the farm's owner David Hall. Of course, the police arrested nobody for this criminal act except one protestor who wanted to stay with his colleague until the ambulance came.

Please support this campaign if you can. Transport is available from around the country. The farm is easy to find just follow the signs! There are demos there every day besides the big national ones every month which attract hundreds of concerned people. Visit the Newchurch website for more details. Daily demonstrations

THE MOST SICK STORY OF ANIMAL CRUELTY EVER...(bar none)

If you thought the European veal trade was perhaps the best example of how low and uncivilised the human race really is - think again - the following story makes veal look almost free-range organic:
Today in China thousands of bears are kept prisoner for extracting bile from their gall bladders. The bears are kept in a horizontal position, in coffin-sized cages. They wear a metal collar and are held down by pressure bars. A catheter linked to a continuously running pump extracts bile from them while they remain in the same position and in a state of permanent pain for 15-20 years! The bile serves a disgusting market: it is used to produce shampoos, afrodisiacs and 'miraculous' remedies. The suffering of the animal exceeds the imagination; the bear wishes death, mutilates itself and tries to commit suicide.
For more information check out the organisation Animals-Asia who are aiming to shut down every bear-bile farm by the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Politely, tell the Chinese Governernment what you think:
