    Note to editors:
Derby Hunt Saboteurs was formed in 1977 in response to the growing opposition to hunting with hounds. They soon diversified to actively oppose all bloodsports including shooting and fishing. This philosophy has continued to this day. The group, now called DERBY ANIMAL RIGHTS, would like to see a ban on not just bloodsports, but animal vivisection, live exports, battery farming, animal circuses and stricter laws on the welfare of animals and tougher penalties for those that abuse them. The group uses simple but peaceful and effective techniques to disrupt and confuse hunts. Our aim is to prevent injury to any animal whether it be quarry, hound, horse, or human. Members are also involved in human rights and have a strong anti-racist policy.
